Madrid, 5 July 2017 – Telefónica Business Solutions leading provider of a wide range of integrated communication solutions for the B2B market, has announced that its public Cloud platform, Open Cloud, and its private Cloud platform, OpenCloud Stack, have obtained the OpenStack Powered Compute certification. As such, the Company’s public and private Cloud joins the Marketplace of the popular open code ecosystem.
This milestone means Telefónica is the only telecommunications provider of public and private Cloud based on OpenStack in Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Argentina, USA and Peru, combined with the largest presence in the whole Latin American market. Telefónica Open Cloud stands as the first multi-national OpenStack Cloud platform in the region.
Telefónica Open Cloud provides all the resources that corporate customers need in the development and operation of their digital Business models, and for projects that require additional IT resource capacity in a pay-per-use model. Open Cloud is the IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) and PaaS (Platform as a Service) service that allows the customers to have these utilities in a more flexible, reliable, scalable, secure and profitable way versus other public Cloud services. Also, through this platform, customers can build hybrid IT architectures to expand their local infrastructure to the Open Cloud.
Open Cloud Stack is based on the same technology as the Open Cloud service. It will allow customers to deploy hybrid Cloud environments where the private Cloud will appear as another region in the portfolio of available regions.
Open Cloud is integrated within the core of Telefónica’s communications, which allows customers to have a unique flexibility to set hybrid and diverse hybrid Cloud environments.
