El Salvador, Bogotá, Miami, April 2015. As part of the strategic consolidation of its global network, Avianca has selected Telefonica as its main telecommunications provider, including its global network services, customer support centre services, internet and digital security.
Under this new agreement, Telefonica will handle the transition and transformation of Avianca's network and telecommunication services over the next three years. The delivery of a new global communications network will provide the basis for all telecommunications services between Avianca's corporate offices and airports throughout the world. This will enable them to improve the airline's tools to raise the efficiency of their customer service and their own staff.
Telefonica believes it is key to maintain the critical process of customer service in the commercial air transport industry, incorporating innovative management processes and quality assurance with the high-technology services it will provide to Avianca, which will help it to achieve significant cost efficiencies.
